Anchor text (glossary)
The visible text of a link. For a bought campaign it is a distribution across five classes (branded, topical, exact match, generic, naked URL) rather than a string per link, because many links with one keyword anchor is the footprint that gets a page discounted.
Where does anchor text appear in the API?
anchor_plan on orders and standing orders; anchor_mix in campaign memory and target profiles, classified from the text when no plan was given; anchor_seen on every survival check, so a swapped anchor is recorded.
Why does it matter?
The long version, with a default mix and the footprint to avoid, is the anchor text guide.
