Glossary

The terms the API uses, each defined once, with where it appears in a response and why it matters to a buyer.

Verification (of a domain's authority)

Whether a domain's link authority is matched by an organic footprint: ok, suspect or unverified. The field every other quality signal hangs off.

Suspect domain

A domain whose link authority is not matched by search visibility, or whose links, ratio or subdomain status fail one of five tests. A strong signal, not a verdict.

Saturated publisher

A site that links out to 500 or more outside domains and to five times as many as link in: a placement business with a publication wrapped round it.

Leader links

How many of a topic's top-ranking sites a publisher links to. Publications link to what ranks; farms link to whoever pays.

Price plausibility

Where an offer's price sits in the distribution for its placement type, inventory mode and claimed-DR decade. Under the 10th percentile is the signature of bought authority.

Market reference price

The median ask of comparable placements, with this ask against it and the spread of asks for the same domain across sellers. Not a fair value: asks, not clearing prices.

Seller gap (price dispersion)

The difference between the cheapest and most expensive marketplace selling the same placement on the same domain. The median across the catalogue, and why it exists.

Held quote

A plan whose prices are frozen for four hours: order any line with the quote id and pay the price shown, or let it lapse.

Standing order

A brief that re-runs on a schedule: a fixed number of links per fortnight or month inside a per-run budget, each run a held quote to approve, or placed automatically if the dashboard switch is on.

Inventory mode: named, pre-approval, blind

Whether you know the domain before you buy. Named inventory is a specific site you can inspect; blind inventory guarantees characteristics and assigns the domain at fulfilment.

Restricted content: gambling, adult, piracy

Publishers that accept restricted verticals are marked and excluded from plans unless the brief asks for them. Separate from suspect, and cheaper than you would expect.

Credits

Prepaid balance, one credit = one US cent, debited at order time. What they buy, how they are topped up, and why the price you see is the price you pay.

Anchor text (glossary)

The clickable text of a link. Planned as a distribution across branded, topical, exact, generic and naked-URL classes, never as one string.

Survival (glossary)

What happened to the placements we bought on a publisher: live share now and at 90 days, median days before a lost link went missing. Null under three orders.
