Seller gap (price dispersion)

For a domain sold by more than one marketplace at the same placement type, the most expensive ask over the cheapest as a percentage of the cheapest. Across 86,282 such domains the median gap is 98%; the tail runs past ten times.

Where does seller gap appear in the API?

Every quote takes the cheapest seller of each slot and says so in why (“cheapest of 4 suppliers for this domain, median 4,507 credits, you pay 1,688”). savings on a quote is the total against the median seller; supplier_count and spread are on the site view. Sellers are never named.

Why does it matter?

Nothing about the link changes with the seller. The gap is entirely which account you happened to buy through, and from inside one marketplace there is only ever one price. Finding 04 on the market report; monthly on the price index.
