Restricted content: gambling, adult, piracy
Gambling, adult and piracy publishers, marked from the sellers’ own acceptance labels and topic tags. Excluded from plans and searches unless the brief names the vertical or sets include_restricted. Not the same as suspect: the two are separate fields, although sites accepting restricted verticals are more often suspect (27% against 24.5%).
Where does restricted content appear in the API?
restricted[] on offers, lines and sites; accepts[] in a brief to require a vertical. Restricted content takes 20 points off the quality component of the score.
Why does it matter?
Conventional wisdom says restricted verticals pay a premium. In this catalogue they carry a discount: finding 05 on the market report. A publisher willing to take anything is telling you something, and the market has priced it in.
